The Labourd

Labourd is the province that lies between ocean and mountains. There is the Basque coast, with its famous seaside resorts like Biarritz, Saint-Jean-De-Luz, Hendaye, its typical fishing ports and its waves so popular with surfers. Not forgetting Bayonne, which is the gateway to the Basque Country and the confluence of the Nive and Adour.
And there is the interior Labourd, made up of lots of small, typical towns which give their province such charm, such as Ascain, Sare, Ainhoa, Espelette and its famous pepper. In the middle of the green landscapes, the imposing architecture of the Labourdine houses with their green and red shutters stands out. Each village has a pediment in the central square.

The Basque Coast is a treasure-trove of diversity, curiosity and beauty waiting to be discovered. A perfect place for water sports such as surfing, paddleboard, sailing… Climb aboard a boat to sail along the Basque coast, try sea fishing or learn to dive. Not forgetting golf and its courses overlooking the ocean, and especially the choice of incredible beaches from Hendaye to Anglet to relax between swimming and sunbathing.
